A Unique Fall Wedding

Victoria & Edwin – November 29, 2024

A Thanksgiving Weekend Wedding to Remember: Victoria & Edwin’s Magical Hill Country Celebration

Originally set for a November destination wedding in Cancun, they pivoted when the logistics and stress started to pile up (we get it). That’s when the magic of the Texas Hill Country—and a little online serendipity—brought them to us.

From the very first site tour, we could tell they were out kind of people. Victoria and Edwin weren’t just looking for a pretty place—they were dreaming of a celebration that was deeply personal, family-centered, and joyfully grounded. And that’s kind of our whole thing at EPW!

A Tradition Reimagined: The Tea Ceremony First Dance

In one of the most unique and meaningful wedding moments we’ve ever witnessed. Before their first dance, the couple kneeled for a traditional tea ceremony—an honoring of heritage, gratitude, and connection seamlessly flowing into their first dance. I can say with certainty, it’s the only time I’ve had to write a chalkboard sign that said “please don’t sit here” ON the dance floor (it was on their tea table LOL).

A Tribute to Those Passed

One of the most emotional touches was a memorial tree that honored Victoria’s mother and the couple’s beloved pup, who had passed just a month before the wedding. It was a sentimental touch, and we were honored to help honor their remembrance. The way Victoria handled herself leading up to and on the day during what is supposed to be the happiest time in a bride’s life without the support of her mom is something that I will always remember.

A Hilltop Hustle & Some Real Wedding MVPs

Yes, there was a ridge hike. Yes, Victoria powered through in booties and her ankles survived. And yes, it was absolutely worth it for those golden-hour views. The behind-the-scenes support was peak EPW—Alex carrying the bouquet, Edwin wrangling the train and the photographer playing hiking buddy.

And did we mention this all happened the day after Thanksgiving? Even with holiday schedules and a newborn baby at EPW (I had just given birth to our second, three months earlier!), everything ran smoothly – thanks in LARGE part to their extremely laid-back nature as a couple (bless them).

Victoria wrote in her review, “If we could go back in time to relive our big day, we would in a heartbeat.” We feel the same way!

Victoria and Edwin, thank you for letting Elm Pass Woods be part of how you kicked off your adventures as Mr. and Mrs. <3
