A Sunday Funday Wedding from a Bygone Era
Erin & Chris – October 9, 2022
Why did we love it? Chris and Erin wanted a relaxed bruch-type feel wedding where people could just listen to records and actually have conversations (i.e. put their phones away!). That vibe was definitely achieved. Chris’ brother dabbles in Tintype photography and took the couple’s photo after the wedding! It looked like something out of the wild wild west movie, as did the grooms’ cane and pocket watch. They did a handfasting during the ceremony, and their friends (who were also groomsmen) played guitar during the ceremony which was so special.
They brought in their personal record player and collection and each record had a sticky note of why it was special to the couple. Guests loved it. They are also big Lord of the Rings fans, and Chris baked their actual wedding cake as a replica of Bilbo Baggins Birthday cake from the movies. Right before the wedding I realized that the friends who were supposed to find the right color flowers for the cake couldn’t find them at Home Depot, so I grabbed a few from the day before’s wedding which happened to be exactly the right color and we brought berries from our fridge! It ended up being perfect. Erin also was gifted a legit Irish cloak from her Aunt that I carried up to the ridge for them for photos. It completed the Lord of the Rings-esqu vibe of the day.
Their Review:
“I’d give this venue 10 stars if I could! Elm Pass Woods was an absolutely stunning wedding venue! From the moment we visited the property, we were in love and blown away by the magical atmosphere. The available decor was also top-notch and helped bring our dream wedding to life.
We were also quite naive to some of the details, but Alex provided us so much guidance and recommendations, which resulted in a seamless event. Every detail was taken care of and the result was a truly unforgettable experience.
One of my favorite memories from the day was our hike, gorgeous views, an opportunity for some peace, and we even saw some fun forest creatures . I cannot recommend this venue enough! Go see it, you won’t be disappointed!!
Thank you Alex and EPW for giving me the best memories of my life!”
